Sheriff's Office Drug Assistance Program (CARES)

The Morris County Sheriff’s office in partnership with the Mental Health Association of Morris County, Morris County Prevention is Key and their Center for Addiction Recovery, Education and Success (CARES) is working together to connect our community to recovery and wellness. Hope One will be at different locations each week providing support for those individuals struggling with addiction. The mobile Hope One access center will be equipped with several different resources like meal vouchers, Narcan kits, linkage to services including treatment, recovery support, behavioral health and much more. On board Hope One will be a Licensed Clinician, a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist, and a plain clothed officer helping those needing recovery assistance. Morris County Sheriff James Gannon, who has spearheaded this project, spoke at our monthly CARES volunteer breakfast about this initiative. Sheriff Gannon stated that, “Hope One is wrapped around your loved ones. It is in our hearts and this is where we believe we can make the difference!”. For more information and to stay up to date on the locations Hope One will be visiting, please like us on Facebook and visit our website at www.morris.caresnj.org.  The van frequents Morris Plains at Stop and Shop, located at 245 Littleton Road, Morris Plains, NJ 07950.  Stay tuned to the Morris Plains Police Department Website as well as our Facebook Page for times and dates.
