Jersey Central Power & Light’s has a new "24/7 Power Center,"  http://outages.firstenergycorp.com/nj.html, the online map delivers fast and accurate outage information to desktop, smart phone and mobile devices. If you have not already done so, please add the link to your website bookmarks.
In addition to offering outage information, the map also allows you to quickly and easily report power outages and streetlight outages.  To report a power outage, go to Report Power Outages and follow the prompts to enter your information. To report streetlight outages, go to Report Power Outages and select Report Streetlight Problems and follow the prompts to enter your information.  You may also continue to report power outages and streetlight outages by calling 888-LIGHTSS (1-888-544-4877).

Power Outages
The police communications desk receives numerous calls from residents about power loss. The police department cannot restore your power. If you lose power you are urged to call 1-800-544-4877 (1-800-LIGHTSS)and report the outage to JCP&L. We also recommend you select the option to be notified via telephone callback when your power is restored. You may also use JCP&L's new website to track and report outages.  Go to their new Online Power Center at http://outages.firstenergycorp.com/nj.html

Reporting your power outage to JCP&L is the fastest way to document your outage. JCP&L states that when homeowners report their outages directly to JCP&L it allows them to pinpoint the problem in a more expeditious manner.
