Ptl. Hochman
stopped a vehicle on Stiles Avenue at 9:01 a.m.
The 29 year old Morristown driver was found to
have an active warrant out of Morris Twp.
The subject was placed under arrest and later
turned over to the Morris Twp. Police.
Sgt. Mautone,
Ptl. Hochman and the Morris Minute Men First Aid
Squad responded to a pedestrian struck by a
motor vehicle at 2:06 p.m. The crash at
Speedwell Avenue and Hanover Avenue occurred
when a vehicle attempting to make a turn struck
a person riding a bicycle in the crosswalk.
The bicyclist was transported to the hospital
for treatment.
Ptl. Koroski,
with the assistance of Guttenberg Police,
arrested a 33 year old Newark, NJ resident.
The subject, who was wanted on an active Morris
Plains warrant, was committed to the Morris
County Jail in default of bail.
Ptl. Kohn, Ptl.
Koroski, the Morris Plains Fire Department and
the Morris Minute Men First Aid Squad responded
to a motor vehicle crash with entrapment at 6:07
a.m. The crash occurred at the Route 10 &
202 intersection and one of the vehicles had
overturned. The investigation revealed one
of the vehicles had failed to stop for a red
signal. Both occupants from the overturned
vehicle were transported to the hospital.
Ptl. Kohn stopped
a vehicle on Mayfair Road at 2:36 p.m. The
driver, a 31 year old Georgia resident was found
to have a suspended drivers license. The
driver was placed under arrest and charged with
speeding and driving while suspended.
Sgt Rybasack
investigated a fraud at 3:19 p.m. The
victim stated he has invested over $1,000.000.00
with a company and they have failed to provide
any return on the investment as promised.
The investigation was turned over to the
detective bureau.
Ptl. Kohn
investigated a shoplifting theft at a Route 10
business at 3:53 p.m. The store security
guard reported two females stole approximately
$150.00 worth of merchandise and fled in a
vehicle. Patrols were able to develop a
suspect and the investigation is continuing.
Ptl. Tavaglione
investigated a dumping complaint on Prospect
Avenue at 9:52 a.m. An unknown person
dumped concrete debris which appeared to be from
a swimming pool. The investigation is
continuing.
Ptl Tavaglione
stopped to investigate a suspicious person at
the Morris Plains Train Station at 5:34 p.m.
The 51 year old Morristown, NJ resident was
found to have multiple arrest warrants.
The subject was placed under arrest and later
turned over to Morris County officials.
Ptl Koroski
stopped a vehicle at 2:50 a.m. on Route 53.
After further investigation the subject was
arrested for driving while intoxicated.
The 28 year old Morristown, NJ resident was
charged with unlicensed driver, careless
driving, driving while intoxicated, refusal to
submit to breath samples and providing false
information to a law enforcement officer.
Ptl. Hochman
investigated a theft on American Road at 1:52
p.m. The victim stated her cell phone was
stolen from her vehicle while it was parked at
an American Road business. The victims car
was left unlocked.
Sgt. Rolph, Ptl.
Koroski and the Morris Plains Fire Department
responded to a car fire at 11:05 p.m. on
Glenbrook Road. The fire was quickly
extinguished by the MPFD. The fire was
determined to have been caused by a vehicle
malfunction.
Sgt. Mautone,
Ptl. Hochman and Ptl. Rush responded to American
Road at 5:06 p.m. The complainant reported
a theft in progress and the actor was
threatening the victim. Patrols
located the actor and victim and after further
investigation it was determined the matter was a
civil dispute. Both parties were advised
how to seek relief with the court.
Sgt. Mautone
responded to a Mayfair Road residence for a
dispute. Patrols found a landlord and
tenant in a verbal dispute. The landlord
wanted access to the tenants room and the
situation escalated. Patrols advised the
parties of their recourse through civil court.
Sgt. Mautone,
Ptl. Damiano and the Morris Plains Fire
Department responded to Jaqui Avenue at 6:27
p.m. for a fire. A utility pole was on
fire and the attached transformer was leaking
fluid. The MPFD extinguished the fire and
Jersey Central Power & Light responded to repair
the damage.
Ptl. Hochman and
Ptl. Tavaglione discovered four subjects
swimming at Community Park Pool at 11:17 p.m.
Patrols arrested a Morris Plains resident and a
Morristown, NJ resident, both 18 years old.
The subjects were charged with violating
municipal ordinances of swimming and being in
the park after hours. Both subjects were
released pending court.
Ptl. Keane
responded to a disturbance at a Speedwell Avenue
business at 2:51 p.m. Patrol found a
customer who was dissatisfied with work
performed by the business. The business
refused to refund the customers money and a
verbal dispute ensued. Patrols were able
to diffuse the situation and no charges were
filed.
Ptl. Keane
investigated an identity theft at 8:16 a.m.
The Morris Plains resident stated an unknown
person stole his identity and opened up a charge
account. The victim discovered the theft
when he was notified that the fraudulent charge
account was sent to collections. The detective
bureau is investigating.
Sgt. Rolph
arrested a 20 year old Morristown, NJ resident
at 8:30 a.m. The subject was stopped on
Littleton Road for questioning. It was
determined the subject was in possession of a
bicycle that was stolen a day earlier at the
Morris Plains Train Station. The subject
was charged with theft.
Ptl. Hochman
investigated a theft at 8:35 p.m. The
victim reported his bicycle was stolen from the
Morris Plains Train Station. The subject
stated he locked his bicycle at the bike rack
and later observed a male subject riding away on
the bike.
Ptl. Tavaglione
stopped a vehicle on Speedwell Ave at 1:26 a.m.
The driver, a 41 year old Tamarac, FL resident,
was placed under arrest for driving while
intoxicated. The subject was charged with
careless driving, driving while intoxicated and
refusing to submit breath samples.
Ptl. Tavaglione
investigated a burglary to a Franklin Place
residence at 8:20 p.m. The matter is
currently under investigation.
Ptl. Keane, with
the assistance of Dover Police, arrested a 31
year old Landing, NJ resident. The subject
was wanted on a criminal Morris Plains warrant
and later committed to the Morris County Jail in
default.
Ptl. Rapp
investigated a lost wallet at 2:09 p.m.
Ptl. Rapp discovered the victim had three active
arrest warrants totaling more than $1,600.00.
The subject was placed under arrest and later
released after posting bail.
Ptl. Tavaglione
stopped to investigate a fisherman at Community
Park at 3:13 p.m. Although the Lake
Hiawatha, NJ resident had a valid fishing
license he was keeping Bass which are not in
season. Division of Fish and Wildlife were
contacted and charges will be filed against the
subject.
Ptl. Keane
arrested a 36 year old Mine Hill, NJ resident on
an active warrant. The subject posted bail
on the Morris Plains warrant and was later
released pending court.
Sgt. Mautone,
Ptl. Hochman and Det. Dobbins investigated a
serious motor vehicle crash on Routes 10 & 202
at 10:07 p.m. One driver was entrapped and
another driver was transported to the hospital
for his injuries. The roadway was closed
for 45 minutes while the scene was cleared.
It was determined that the cause was due to one
driver attempting to make an illegal u-turn from
Route 10 west onto Route 10 east.
Assisting patrols was the Morris Minute Men
First Aid Squad, the Morris Plains Fire
Department, the Hanover Twp. Police and the
Parsippany Police.
Ptl. Rapp
investigated a serious motor vehicle crash on
Speedwell Avenue at 4:37 p.m. Two
occupants were transported to the hospital for
their injuries. Assisting were the Mobile
Intensive Care Unit, the Morris Minute Men First
Aid Squad and the Morris Plains Fire Department.
Ptl. Tavaglione
investigated a motor vehicle crash at Routes 10
& 202 at 7:45 a.m. The crash caused one of
the involved vehicle to roll over and come to
rest on its roof. One driver was
transported to the hospital by the Morris Minute
Men First Aid Squad. The other driver was
determined to be at fault and was issued
summonses for failure to observe signal,
reckless driving and unlicensed driver.
Ptl. Keane
investigated a serious motor vehicle crash on
Route 10 at 9:16 p.m. The one vehicle
crash damaged a utility pole and knocked down
numerous wires. All three occupants were
injured and transported to the hospital by the
Morris Minute Men First Aid Squad. Route
10 east was closed for several hours while the
investigation was conducted and crews cleaned
the roadway. Assisting were the Morris
Plains Fire Department, the Mobile Intensive
Care Unit, The Morris County Prosecutors Fatal
Crash Investigation Unit and Jersey Central
Power & Light.

arrested a 47 year Morristown, NJ resident at
8:09 p.m. The subject was wanted on an
active Morris Plains warrant. The subject
posted bail and was released pending court.
Ptl. Koroski
investigated a fraud and identity theft
complaint at 8:55 p.m. The Morris Plains
resident reported that her personal information
and credit card number were used to make and
attempt to make several purchases. The
investigation was turned over to the detective
bureau.

stopped a vehicle on Rt. 10 at 12:00 a.m.
The 34 year old Maplewood, NJ resident was
placed under arrest for an active East Hanover,
NJ warrant. The subject was later released
pending court after posting bail.
Ptl. Kohn
investigated a purse snatching at a Rt. 10
business at 10:04 a.m. The victim stated a
vehicle pulled up next to her in the parking
lot. The victim further stated that while
loading her vehicle, an unknown actor snatched
her purse from a shopping cart. The
suspect then sped away. The investigation
is ongoing.
Lt. Thompson
investigated a fraud complaint at 12:43 p.m.
The Morris Plains victim reported credit card
fraud. The investigation was turned over to the
detective bureau.
Sgt. Mautone and
Ptl. Rush investigated a theft from a Morris
Plains home at 11:19 a.m. The suspect was
known to the victim and was observed by patrols
who were searching the area. The subject
was detained for a short period while the field
investigation was being conducted. The
investigation is continuing.
Ptl. Rush
investigated a forgery complaint at 1:04 p.m.
The victim, a Morris Plains resident, reported
receiving a counterfeit bill sometime during the
day. The bill was kept as evidence and the
investigation is continuing.
Ptl. Hochman was
on patrol in Municipal Lot #1 at 9:45 a.m. when
he encountered a disorderly subject. The
actor stood in front of the patrol vehicle and
began yelling obscenities. Sgt. Mautone
arrived to assist and the actor continued to act
disorderly and unruly. Patrols placed the
38 year old Lake Hopatcong, NJ resident under
arrest. The subject was charged with
disorderly conduct and blocking a public passage
way.
Ptl. Rush
investigated a theft at a Route 10 business at
1:25 p.m. Patrols arrested a 40 year old
homeless man for attempting to steal $293.18
worth of perfume and cologne. The subject
also had active arrest warrants out of East
Orange, NJ. The subject was charged with
shoplifting and committed to the Morris County
Jail in default of $2,500.00 bail.
Ptl. Hochman
investigated a trespassing complaint on West
Hanover Avenue at 8:35 a.m. Patrols
developed a suspect and are continuing to
investigate.
Ptl. Rush
investigated a dumping complaint at the Reimer
Recycling Center at 3:50 p.m. Patrols
recovered miscellaneous medical supplies
discarded at the recycling center. All the
medical supplies were taken for proper disposal.
The detective bureau is investigating.
Sgt. Mautone,
Ptl. Rush and the Morris Minute Men First Aid
Squad responded to a Morris Plains home at 5:31
p.m. for a man bleeding from the neck. The
victim stated that while driving east on Route
10 something struck him in the neck causing a
laceration. Patrols were unable to
determine what caused the injury. The
subject was transported to the hospital for
treatment.
Ptl. Rush
investigated criminal mischief on Cedar Avenue
at 9:45 a.m. A silver colored Jeep was
observed driving in the area and was being
operated carelessly. The Jeep struck a
mailbox and fled the area. The
investigation is continuing.
Sgt. Mautone and
Ptl. Hochman investigated an animal complaint on
Watnong Drive at 2:26 p.m. After further
investigation it was discovered that the
incident stems from harassment and trespassing
involving a neighbor. Patrols are
continuing to investigate.

arrested a 51 year old Morris Twp., NJ resident
at 2:36 p.m. The subject, who was wanted
on a Parsippany warrant, posted bail and was
later released pending court.

arrested a 34 year old Morris Plains resident at
12:55 a.m. The subject was charged with
improper passing and driving while intoxicated.
The subject was later released pending court.
Sgt. Rolph
investigated a theft on Sun Valley Way at 9:18
a.m. A resident reported that several
flags and displays were stolen from the front of
his home.
Ptl. Hochman
arrested a 42 year old Randolph, NJ resident at
6:00 p.m. The subject, who was wanted on a
Morris Twp. warrant, posted bail and was later
released.
Ptl. Tavaglione
arrested a 19 year old Morris Plains resident
for driving while intoxicated. In addition
to driving while intoxicated the driver was
charged with careless driving and possession of
drug paraphernalia.
Ptl. Hochman
arrested a 20 year old Morris Plains resident on
an active warrant. The subjects father
responded to police headquarters to post bail
for his son. A records check showed an
active arrest warrant for the father. Ptl.
Hochman placed the father under arrest for the
Chester, NJ warrant. Both subjects were
later released pending court.
Ptl. Keane
arrested a 46 year old Whippany, NJ resident at
7:48 p.m. The subject was wanted on an
active Morris Plains arrest warrant. The
subject was released after posting bail.
Ptl. Hochman
stopped a vehicle on Route 10 at 12:00 a.m.
The driver, a 44 year old Seattle Washington
resident, was placed under arrest for driving
while intoxicated. The subject was charged
with driving while intoxicated, improper passing
and refusing to submit to breath samples.
Ptl. Tavaglione
stopped a vehicle on West Hanover Avenue at
10:11 p.m. The driver, a 52 year old
Mendham, NJ resident, was placed under arrest
and charged with speeding and driving while
intoxicated.

Rapp and Ptl. Koroski investigated an assault at
5:41 p.m. A female ran into Police
Headquarters screaming that she was being
assaulted by a male. Patrols were able to
locate the suspect and placed him under arrest.
The matter fell under the NJ Domestic Violence
Protection Act and was turned over to the Morris
County Superior Court - Family Division.
Ptl. Rush and the
Morris Plains Fire Department responded to
Mayfair Road at 9:14 p.m. for a car fire.
Upon arrival the vehicle, which was parked
between two homes, was observed to be fully
involved. The MPFD were able to quickly
bring the fire under control and prevented any
damage to the homes. The vehicle was
completely destroyed and the cause is under
investigation.

investigated threats at 10:37 p.m. Patrols
discovered the incident fell under the NJ
Domestic Violence Protection Act. The
matter was turned over to the Morris County
Superior Court - Family Division.
Ptl. Rapp stopped
a vehicle on Route 10 at 9:14 p.m. The
driver, a 28 year old Chatham, NJ resident, was
placed under arrest on an active warrant.
The subject posted bail on the Morris Twp.
warrant and was released pending court.
Ptl. Koroski
arrested a 25 year old Morris Plains resident on
an active Chesterfield, NJ warrant. The
subject was later released pending court.
Ptl. Tavaglione
was checking a Route 10 business and observed a
male urinating in the parking lot. The 50
year old Springfield, NJ resident was placed
under arrest and charged with lewdness under
local municipal ordinance. The subject was
later released pending court.

stopped a vehicle on Davenport Avenue at 3:17
p.m. The driver, a 27 year old Morristown,
NJ resident, was placed under arrest and charged
with failing to signal and driving while
suspended.
Ptl. Tavaglione
was checking a suspicious vehicle at a Route 10
business at 10:33 a.m. The operator of the
vehicle was a 32 year old East Orange, NJ
resident. After further investigation by
patrols, the subject was placed under arrest and
charged with unlawful possession of a weapon,
possession of a fraudulent government document
and driving while suspended.

a vehicle on Route 53 at 11:01 p.m. The 36
year old Mine Hill, NJ resident was found to be
operating a motor vehicle with a suspended
drivers license. The subject was placed
under arrest and issued summonses for driving
while suspended.

stopped a vehicle on Route 10 at 9:30 p.m.
The driver, a 39 year old Parsippany, NJ
resident, was found to have an active warrant
out of Parsippany. The subject was placed
under arrest and later released after posting
bail.
